AI Operations & Consulting

Applied AI
for the way you work

Systems Designer · AI Operations · Automation

Most organisations are surrounded by AI tools but still doing the same work by hand. The gap is not ambition. It is systems. I listen to how you actually work, identify where AI can remove friction, then design and build the systems that make it real. I help leadership teams stay ahead of a landscape that moves faster than any individual can track alone.

The Gap

The tools exist.
The systems don't.

Most AI adoption fails at the same point.

Not for lack of tools. There are hundreds. It fails because nobody designs a system around the actual human using it. A generic ChatGPT prompt library is not a system. A company-wide AI policy is not a system. A system is something that works for you, built around how you think and what you actually need to do.

Senior leaders face a specific version of this.

They do not have time to evaluate every new model, every new tool, every new workflow approach. The AI landscape evolves faster than any busy person can keep up with. They need someone who does that work for them and translates it into something they can use tomorrow.

Automation compounds the problem and the opportunity.

The organisations winning with AI have not just found better prompts. They have replaced repetitive processes with workflows that run automatically. n8n pipelines. Automated reporting. AI-assisted briefings generated before every meeting. The gap between "we use AI" and "AI runs our operations" is a systems design problem.

The Work

How I can help

Workshop

AI Landscape & Leadership Enablement

A two-session workshop (half-days, one week apart) that cuts through hype and gets your leadership team to a real baseline. We map where AI can save each leader time, run live builds against actual problems, and cover security and trust in plain language.

Each participant leaves with a personal AI audit, a clear picture of the current landscape, and enough hands-on experience to know what is possible. The gap between sessions gives people time to return to their desks, notice where AI could help, and come back with real questions.

Best for: Leadership teams of 4 to 10 who want to move from passive awareness to active capability.

1:1 System Design

Your Personal AI, Built for You

Four sessions over 6 to 8 weeks. I map how you work, identify your biggest time sinks, then build and install a personalised AI system on your machine. Configured around your role, your tools, and your working style.

What gets built depends on who you are. Some leaders get a persistent AI assistant and knowledge base that remembers their priorities, drafts in their voice, and preps them for every meeting. Others get n8n automations that replace hours of manual reporting. Some get both. The system lives on your machine with full documentation, and it works without me after handoff.

Deliverables: Installed AI system, custom AI assistant, "how your system works" guide, prompt library, privacy framework.

Fractional AI Ops

An AI Operations Partner

Not every organisation needs a full-time AI operations hire, yet. But most need someone who owns it: evaluating tools, creating and managing workflows, enabling the team, and making sure adoption actually sticks beyond the first month.

I embed within your organisation on an ongoing basis. Monthly retainer. I handle tool evaluation and procurement, build and maintain automation systems, run enablement sessions for new team members, and keep your AI infrastructure current as the landscape evolves. Think of it as having an AI operations director without the full-time overhead.

Best for: Early-stage and mid-size companies that need AI operations capability without a permanent headcount.

Add-on

Quarterly Evolution

AI moves fast. A system built today may need updating in three months. Quarterly evolution cycles keep the investment working: two sessions per quarter, one to review progress and surface what has changed, one to deliver updates, new builds, or a strategic recommendations report. Available for Workshop and 1:1 clients.

Approach

Built on real systems

Everything I offer, I use myself. I run a personal knowledge management system, automated research workflows, and AI-assisted project planning as production systems I depend on daily. I build n8n automation pipelines that handle complex multi-step processes without manual intervention. I work with LLMs across every major provider, matching capabilities to the task rather than defaulting to one tool.

I match the tools to the person, not the other way around. A CEO who needs a thinking partner gets a different stack to an operations lead who needs automated reporting. A technical founder gets a different setup to an HR director. The common thread is that every system is designed around the person using it.

Credentials

A systems designer who actually builds

15 years designing complex systems that make hard things feel obvious. VR therapy for anxiety, clinically validated and deployed by the NHS. Enterprise drug discovery platforms built in partnership with a global top-5 pharmaceutical company. AI automation pipelines processing real workloads in production. The through-line across all of it: sitting between complex capability and the humans who need to use it, and making it work.

I am not an AI evangelist who pivoted last year. I am a systems designer who has spent the last two years applying the same discipline I have always used to a new and rapidly evolving domain.

NHS (UK)

Delivered workshops on designing new training systems for clinical staff

TUD (Ireland)

Former professor, BA in Game Design. Designed the full first-year curriculum

Production AI systems

Built and run real automation pipelines, not slide decks

Workshop facilitator

Proven ability to teach complex systems to diverse audiences, from clinicians to executives to university students

Outcomes

Where you'll be after the work

These are not abstract promises. They are the kinds of systems I build.

The CEO's Personal AI

It is Tuesday morning. You have seven meetings, forty unread messages, and a board update to draft by Thursday.

Your AI assistant already knows about all of it.

It knows your role, your priorities, your communication style, and the decisions you made last quarter. It has read your emails, reviewed your calendar, and remembered everything you told it to keep. It is not a chatbot you open in a browser. It is a persistent system that lives on your machine, learns your patterns over time, and is one keystroke away from anywhere on your computer.

You dictate your thoughts for the board update on your walk to the office. By the time you sit down, a structured first draft is waiting. You paste three email threads in and ask for the key asks and a suggested response to each. You prep for your 10am by asking what you decided last time you met this person. It tells you, with the relevant notes attached.

This is not a future technology. It exists now. The only thing missing is someone to build it around you: your tools, your role, your way of thinking.

The Operations Lead Who Stopped Drowning

Before: weekly reporting takes hours. Data lives in four different tools. Status updates are copy-pasted into a doc, reformatted, reviewed, and sent. Every Friday afternoon disappears into operational admin that adds no strategic value.

After: an n8n pipeline pulls the data, formats the report, and drops a polished draft in your inbox every Friday morning. You review it in ten minutes. The same automation handles client briefing docs, meeting summaries, and recurring internal communications.

The time you get back is not trivial. It is five to ten hours a week. That is the difference between a leader who is always behind and one who has space to think strategically. One who actually has time to lead.

The Company That Actually Adopted AI

Six months ago, this team was like most others. A few people used ChatGPT occasionally. Nobody had a system. Leadership talked about AI in strategy meetings but nobody owned it operationally.

Now: every new hire gets an AI onboarding session in their first week. The team has a shared automation library of n8n workflows covering their most common repetitive tasks. Leadership has personalised AI assistants configured to their roles. There is a clear AI usage policy with a practical privacy framework. And there is someone who evaluates new tools as they emerge, filters out the noise, and rolls out what is actually useful.

That someone started as a fractional partner. The investment was a fraction of a full-time hire. The result was a team that does not just "use AI" but runs on it.
